Mandy Moore Vows a Healthier New Year

Look for a new, improved Mandy Moore come 2010. The newly married singer-turned-actress, 26, says that her days of letting a busy career get in the way of good health are over, and that she's got a set of explicit New Year's resolutions to that effect. I need to be more consistent about taking care of myself no matter how busy I am," she tells Shape magazine in an issue to hit newsstands on Dec. 23. That includes changing her diet – she vows to eat at home more with husband Ryan Adams – seeing a doctor regularly, and making full use of the dusty workout equipment she has at home. It also means taking a genuine break from her schedule, like with a trip to the Egyptian pyramids, Machu Picchu or an African safari. "The last time I took a real break was two years ago with my girlfriends in Costa Rica," she says. "This year Ryan and I want to go somewhere that’s just for us – no work!" Also on her list of resolutions? Learning to play guitar. "I can plunk out enough chords to write a song, but I'm completely afraid to play guitar in front of other people. It's a fear of failure, I guess," she says. "I've started and stopped lessons a million times, but I'm less likely to cancel or make other plans if I've made the commitment and am paying someone." source

Lindsay Lohan And Leo DiCaprio: Party Pals

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 18, 2009: Lindsay Lohan And Leo DiCaprio: Party Pals They’re no strangers to swanky Hollywood soirees, and last night (December 17) Lindsay Lohan and Leonardo DiCaprio both attended MLB stud Brian Wilson’s Hollywood Hills shindig. The “Mean Girls” actress looked to be having a marvelous time as she arrived at the party, sporting a big smile as she passed the paparazzi. LiLo also dressed to impress, opting for a black leather jacket along with a black lacy dress and a pair of black thigh-high leather boots. As for Leo, he seemed to be right at home as he puffed a big stogie while mingling with fellow merrymakers like Kevin Connolly and Jayde Nicole.

"Sue will never take a backseat on the show ever"

Ryan Murphy has had a lasting commercial and critical hit with FX’s Nip/Tuck. But the phenomenal success of Fox’s Glee has given this 43-year-old out writer-director-producer true mainstream success.

We spoke yesterday at the Hollywood Radio & Television Society luncheon about a variety of topics including his thoughts one of his young stars, Chris Colfer, coming out on E!’s Chelsea Lately a few weeks back. Ryan was completely supportive and also thrilled with the show’s four Golden Globe nominations this week (It added a SAG Award nomination earlier today). Slightly spoilery interview this way... )

LOVE IN THE AIR FOR
GYLLENHAAL & HATHAWAY?

Though she’s officially dating struggling actor Adam Shulman, Anne Hathaway may have a hankering for newly-single Jake Gyllenhaal.

According to a report, the “Princess Diaries” babe and the “Prince of Persia: Sands of Time” hunk have grown super-close while filming “Love and Other Drugs” together.

An inside source told press, “Jake and Anne get along like a house on fire. They’ve become extremely close. Jake feels he can talk to Anne about anything, including his struggles with Reese. She’s been his shoulder to cry on and a great listener.”

But Jake’s recent split with Ms. Witherspoon may be a symptom of his attraction to Miss Hathaway. “Anne was deeply shocked when Jake dumped Reese. She thinks Jake is so sweet. Who knows where this could lead?”

Rihanna totally redeems herself after wearing those hideous Jean Paul Gaultier dungarees recently

Rihanna 'Friday Night with Jonathan Ross' TV Programme

Rihanna totally redeems herself after wearing those hideous Jean Paul Gaultier dungarees recently.

Rihanna is like a fashion roller-coaster.

One minute she’s up, the next she’s down, and a some points you just want to be sick.

Here she is on the up at yesterday’s taping of ‘Friday Night with Jonathan Ross’ in London.

I absolutely LOVE this Alexandre Vauthier Couture Fall 2009 dress on Rihanna.

See RiRi you can look edgy and sophisticated at the same time without looking like a hobo.

The exquiste nude sequin gown looks as stunning on Rihanna as it does on the model.

In fact I think I like it better on Rihanna, as the dress drapes better with the thinner white belt.

Rihanna has worn these white ankle strap heels on several occasion, and now we know where she got them from as they were presented on the runway during Vauthier’s Fall 2009 Couture show.

Rihanna’s Stéphane Rolland look was one of my favourites this year, but this look trumps that one and is a worthy BDOTW contender.

This is now the second time Rihanna has worn a look from this talented designer.

Jonathan Ross is very funny, so I can’t wait to see this interview which airs tonight at 1035pm on BBC1, or you can watch the interview on BBC iPlayer tomorrow.

Duggar baby doing as "well as can be expected"

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Michelle Duggar tells PEOPLE she is cherishing every moment with her premature 19th child, Josie Brooklyn, who remains hospitalized at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.

"Josie is doing as well as can be expected for a baby at her age. We are taking each hour as it comes," says Michelle, who has been released from the hospital. "We feel so blessed that God has given us to her and are cherishing every moment with her." Josie was born on Dec. 10 weighing 1 lb., 6 oz.

Michelle, who had been in the hospital recovering from a gallstone, was taken to the OR for an emergency C-section.

Her husband Jim Bob Duggar remained by her side. Michelle's doctors said the baby was born prematurely because Michelle suffered from preeclampsia, a rare condition during pregnancy that causes high blood pressure. Jim Bob says the family is "very grateful" for the support, love and prayers they have received from around the country.

"God's will is what we would choose if we knew all the facts. Our children's spiritual maturity is going to deepen so much through this, in a way that couldn't happen any other way," he says. He adds, "This is so difficult, but I know that we are leaving this in God's hands."

I hope Josie will be okay!

Twiggy's Photoshopped Olay ads banned in England

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Perhaps we should start calling 2009 the year of the airbrush. The latest Photoshop scandal involves not an emaciated model nor a bizarrely-retouched actress on the cover of a fashion magazine, but instead a 60-year-old icon with not enough crows' feet for anyone's liking.

Let's catch you up: Last summer, beauty company Olay debuted its Definity eye cream campaign depicting model Twiggy looking far younger, smoother, and firmer than her then 59 years should suggest. The '60s fashion star appeared virtually wrinkle-free in the ads and, since her baby-faced visage was selling anti-aging cream to older women, quite a few people—including bloggers, news outlets, and the British Parliament—grew quite disturbed.

In August, British lawmakers called for a ban on the digitally altered ads, suggesting they mislead the public. And, in the ensuing months, the U.K's Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) received hundreds of complaints from the public, claiming the Olay images were "socially irresponsible" and could have a "negative impact on people's perceptions of their own body image, " The Guardian reports.

Finally, yesterday, the ASA banned the complete set of Olay Twiggy ads, ruling that the post-production retouching could give consumers a "misleading impression of the effect the product could achieve."

You think?

In the ads, Twiggy says, "Olay is my secret to brighter-looking eyes" and "Because younger-looking eyes never go out of fashion...[it] reduces the look of wrinkles and dark circles for brighter, younger-looking eyes."

However, since Olay admits to "minor retouching" around Twiggy's eyelid area (essentially wiping out any indication of undereye darkness, bags, and fine lines), we know the cream is not really her secret. Instead it's a skilled computer technician, which is something you just can't bottle and sell for $23.89. Nor is this "secret" available to most women. Honestly, it's refreshing that, with the banning of these ads, finally someone is saying just that.

Taylor Lautner spends time in 'Cancun'

Summit is staying in the Taylor Lautner game.

As the days tick down to the town closing for the holidays, the company has picked up "Cancun," an action spec by Eric Champnella and Grant Thompson.

The project is acting as starring vehicle for Lautner and is the first project from the newly established production shingle he shares with his dad, Dan Lautner.

Dan Lautner is in discussion to produce the movie with Temple Hill's Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen, who forged a relationship with the actor whom they worked on Summit's "Twilight Sage: New Moon."

The story follows an out-of-place college kid who travels with a girl to Cancun on a break. While there, the girl and her friends are taken hostage by a drug cartel and he is forced to save them. The story is designed to take advantage of Lautner's martial arts skills, which he showed off when he hosted "Saturday Night Live" this past weekend.

Summit's president of production Erik Feig and director of development Gillian Bohrer will oversee the project for the studio.

Champnella, repped by ICM, Mosaic and attorney Dave Feldman, co-wrote Disney's "Mr. 3000" and worked on Warners' DC Comics project "Metal Men." Thompson, also repped by ICM, is an actor-turned-writer; this is his first sale.

Lautner is repped by WME and Management 360.

2009 in Photos

This is a really cool collection of photos that have been chosen to represent 2009.

Barack H. Obama is sworn in as the 44th president of the United States as his wife Michelle Obama holds the Bible and their daughters Malia Obama and Sasha Obama look on, on the West Front of the Capitol January 20, 2009 in Washington, DC.

Very image heavy, and some are quite graphic. They're all really cool! )

I hope this wasn't already posted; it was a pain in the ass. I looked around and I didn't see it, but I'm in a daze from finals week so it's very possible that I'm an idiot and I missed it. ANYWAY, which photos are your favorites? Which ones are missing? They're less hilarious than the ones in the best celeb pictures list, but I love some of these a lot.

WTF Was That? The Craziest Fashion Moments of 2009

Honorable Mention: The September Issue release; Anna Wintour's Anna'ness. Catapulting from behind the scenes into the utmost of spotlights this year, largely due to the release of The September Issue, Anna Wintour seems to enjoy leaving quiet little insults in her wake. She casually referred to Minnesota's population as "little houses" during her 60 Minutes interview (ouch!), and then cheerfully suggested the cinematographer of her own documentary might want to "go to the gym" when his tummy showed up in a photo. Damn! And you thought those Tributes hurt!

10. Gaultier's Super Model Runway Tackle. Perhaps the most light-hearted item on our list, Jean-Paul Gaultier proved with zeal that fashion doesn't always need to be straight faces and bob-cuts. He went careening down the runway like a lunatic at his fall '09 show toward 51-year-old former French supermodel Ines de la Fressange, nearly wrestling her to the ground in a moment of... well, we can't even imagine what he was feeling. But it sure did look fun, if not totally crazy.

Beautiful Chocolate Man Lands Lead in New J.J. Abrams Pilot

Boris Kodjoe ("Soul Food," "Surrogates") has scored the lead role in J.J. Abrams upcoming NBC pilot "Undercovers."

"Undercovers," described as a mix between "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" and "The Bourne Identity," revolves around spouses Samantha and Steven (Kodjoe) Bloom, who work together as spies. The pilot was the subject of a bidding war between the major networks, with NBC coming out victorious.

Kodjoe joins the already-cast Gerald McRaney ("Major Dad") in the pilot. McRaney will portray the couple's CIA boss. The role of Samantha has yet to be cast.

Abrams, whose TV credits include "Alias" and "Lost," is considering directing the Warner Bros. TV-produced pilot, which he co-wrote with Josh Reims.

Source: The Hollywood Reporter

I think it's awesome that they went with Boris for the lead. Casting an African-American actor as the lead in a high profile project like this is pretty much unheard of. Can't wait to see who they cast as the wife. Any suggestions, ONTD? And make sure it's someone who equals Boris' hotness.
